Display cable connector damaged(on the displayboard)

Hi,

got a salvaged Tab 3 with a damaged board connector on the display logic board.

see photos.

has anybody some experience with repairing this. unfortunately i have just some basic soldering skills and not really used a rework station before.

@shrubbery if you have not had a chance to practice some microsoldering, I suggest that you do not try to replace it. It's a bit of a PITA to solder and will require the right tools and experience to be successfully repaired. I'd send it off to someone that specialized in board repair. This will of course depend on where you are located. @refectio and others on this forum have specialized in this type of repair. Contact them and see what they think.

I agree with @oldturkey03, this is not a "let's try this" type of repair. Depending on the model, sometimes sourcing the right connector is very difficult. The connector melts really easily so these are not trivial to replace if you don't have any experience.
