PSP won't turn on or charge after being left in below freezing temp

I ordered a PSP 3000 on eBay, and the seller shipped the device with the battery in it. The PSP was in my mailbox for 3 or 4 hours in roughly 15-20 degree Fahrenheit weather, and the battery became swollen and no longer charges. The PSP would not power up when plugged into an AC adapter. I took it apart and found that the power fuse (I believe it is labeled "TD") was blown. I bridged the fuse with some tin foil and plugged it into the AC adapter. The green power light came on, but would not turn off even if I flipped the power switch. After some wiggling of the tin foil, I saw a few small white sparks and the green power light went out. I tried dropping a dab of solder on the fuse but it still wouldn't turn on again. How can I get this device up and running again? Also, where are all of the fuses located on the ta-095 circuit board? Thanks guys

You should replace the battery

There were fuses blown in the device. Would a new battery allow it to turn on?
