bad battery connection/digitizer replacement?

Replaced digitizer on ipad air, everything worked, however after closing device it was dead. When I plugged in the charger, it showed it was charging but never came on. After opening it up again, the device was able to turn on, and to my surprise had 100% battery! Now when it's powered on, the battery % never goes down. I read that some models have a "gas guage" that could have been turned off. And when I put the screw in over the battery, it turns off and shows it's charging but never comes on. I think it's something about the battery connection, but could really use some pointers. Thanks

*UPDATE* The ipad stays on when both the lcd and digitizer are propped up. when they lay flat it goes off. battery % still won't budge from 100.

Hi! I had this problem too, but it was just a very dead battery. I was charging it through a Staples brand power strip that has USB outlets for charging. I also tried charging it via my PC's USB ports. Neither of these worked, but when I plugged it into the wall through a power adapter (a.k.a. cube/wall wart) it charged up just fine. These other methods may charge the battery normally, but not when it is very, very low.
