How to remove the dashboard in a 2002 Nissan XTerra?

And I think I have to disable the airbags. How is this done? Are there relays I can pull or do I need to find the wiring harness?

Thanks in advance for you assistance.

Frank

I should mention I am removing the dash to get to the air ducts to clean out a mouse nest that's in there from years of sitting in a field. Perhaps my question should be how do I clean out the rat's nest out of the air ducts?

Disconnected the battery. Removed the glove box, removed the blower motor, found the mouse's nest in the squirrel cage fan and the heater box next to the heater core. Vacuumed everything out, sprayed a little bleach spray in the duct work to kill the smell. Replaced the heater fan resistor since it was stuck on HI and I was done.

However I did easily disable the passenger air bag by disconnecting the connector easily accessible when I removed the glove box.

Reassemble everything, blow out any residual mouse crap and next and I was done. Two hours instead of the two days I had planned.

Can you say free weekend? WHOOO HOOOO!!!!

I see this was several years back. I am needing to access the heater core tubes in a 2002 Xterra. Can you enlighten me on how you got the blower motor housing and the cooling unit out to get to the heater core? I have taken all screws that I could find off of the cooling unit and blower housing; even 2-3 nearer to firewall and up in a cavity. I know the AC Freon lines and the evaporator drain are still attached, but it seems the cooling unit and the blower motor housing are still attached to each other, or something.

Did you actually remove the dash?
