Lens cover won't open anymore

My lens cover won't seem to open and close like it used to. This prevents me from taking pictures quickly because I always have to check to see if the lens cover is open, or not. I can force it open by hand, but wonder what I need to do to fix this problem?

Mine does the same, but it doesn't seem like it's the springs since when I turn off the camera, the lens cover closes by itself.

It sounds like the springs in your lens cover may be out. If the lens stay open after you force them open, and don't bounce back into place, then it's most likely that your springs are broken or disconnected from the lens. You'll have to open up your camera to make sure! You may either have to replace the springs or simply reattach them to the lens cover.
