Lower portion of the screen doesn't respond to touch

Hello all!

I just teared down a Lumia 1520 with a dying battery I had. The issue is, after rebuilding everything, the lower portion of the touch screen won't work (capacitive button and about 1 cm of screen). What steps should I follow to troubleshoot this problem?
