tried to replace front glass, I'm getting a blank screen now

so while in the process of replacing the front glass, I also cracked the digitizer. I decided to cut off the digitizer ribbon. I turned on the phone and it seems to be working fine except I get a blank screen. The LCD/OLED doesn't seemed to be powering on. Perhaps cutting the ribbon cable also turned off the OLED though I doubt that. I was thinking of buying a front glass/digitizer combo if I can be sure the OLED is still functioning.
