My new digitizer's bottom half of the screen is not registering touch.

My new digitizer's bottom half of the screen is not registering touch. What is wrong? The top works fine. but if I were to input a passcode in landscape for example. I can't touch the 3,6, or 9.

Edric Chen,

it should be digitizer defective. you may have to replace the digitizer

If you can reseat that digitizer connector by pulling it out and putting it back in, you'd be surprised how many problems that solves. :)

It's worth noting, that if your iPad had any power at time of replacement, erratic behavior can occur. I recommend you hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo, before considering the digitizer defective.

OP: If you do intend on opening the iPad Air yourself you should have a digitizer ready just in case you crack the glass as it requires heat and a lot of patience in taking the glass off and using the right tools.

I have reseated it multiple times to no avail.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

sounds like a defective digitizer, have you tried possibly a new digitizer or the old one if it didn't have any touch problems

Just tried the old one. Didnt think of doing that for some reason. That one works so the new one has to be defective.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

yeah thats what it looks like, see if you can return your defective part or exchange it for a new one, where did you buy the digitizer?
