My iBook is not booting, full speed fan, black screen

Hi everyone,

I have one iBook G4 (A1133) here. I got this for a very cheap price.

The problem that I got is, it is not booting, nothing on screen, no any start up sound, the fan is running at full speed(So loudly!) and when i press the caps lock, it's still lit up.

I think it is not yet completely die.

Is it possible to fix this?

Try a PRAM reset. Shut down the computer, then turn it back on. Before you hear the startup chime, hold down the keys Option+Command+P+R. Hold this down until you hear the startup chime twice. If it still fails to boot or you don't hear the startup chime at all, reset the Power Management Unit (PMU). To reset the PMU, turn off the computer, then remove the power adapter and battery, then hold down the power button. Now, use a paperclip to press the reset button on the left side of the notebook above the audio jack. Press the switch only ONCE. Wait for five seconds, then replace the battery and AC adapter. Press the power button to start the computer.

A bit late to answer, but your issue looks like the dry solder issue iBook G4 was plagued with.

And yes it can be fixed:
