You need to replace the display panel (LCD/Glass). There are a lot of shops that do phone repair. Just do a Google search for iPhone repair in your city.

You more than likley have a faulty digitizer. A screen replacement should fix it.

If the screen isn't cracked or no signs of damage or glass pushing up. You could try replugging in the front display cables.

LCD is probably faulty too. Just a heads up. Digitizer = Touch screen / glass.

I know it's all semantics Ben, but the digitizer and the glass are actually two separate things... (even though they are sold as the same thing). The digitizer is the layer which detects touch. The glass is just glass.

For example, with an iPad "digitizer", the actual digitizer layer is glued onto the back of the glass.

Sorry Ben, I was assuming by lines, they meant those silly box like lines which can be a symptom of a faulty digitizer.

Just curious, is semantics and terminology the same thing?

Yeah I knew the digitizer were separate from the glass. I've separated them before for fun, the digitizer indeed appears to be glued to the glass.

I may be way off... but It's my understanding that semantics refers to the meanings of words... so where two people could be meaning exactly the same thing, but using totally different words. Who really knows... it's one of those words!
