Why does my iPhone keep going into a boot loop?

My iPhone 6 Plus is used and keeps going into boot loop and restarting and it only does this while its sleeping, never while I'm using it. Recently i tried to reset it again and while it was erasing everything it went into a viscous boot loop and has yet to come out.

If you mean by 'resetting it' deleting you personal data via the iPhone settings, try to completely restore the operating system via iTunes.

To do that,

  1. Connect it with the lightning cable
  2. Open up iTunes if it doesn't do so automatically
  3. Select your iPhone from the device menu
  4. Press 'Restore iPhone'
