kevin hernandez, what model # is your smart TV?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Un60es8000fxza is the model number.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Did you update the units firmware? If you didn't then go online and download the latest firmware to a USB thumbdrive and extract the software then plug it into the maintenance port of the TV and then turn on the TV. It should see the update as soon as it is turned on if not then see if you can navigate to the update menu and force it.

Luck!

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

The problem is caused by the TV auto downloading software updates and you allowing an upgrade while on a Wi Fi connection.

It must be on wired CAT 5 or better LAN CABLE back to your modem.

After it switches off and back on, it has now lost the Wi Fi password, so it keeps cycling off and on, as it cannot complete the set up with no Wi Fi.

I found that I had to go and deselect in the TV menu, to the get the IP details from 'automatically' to 'manual' to get out of the never ending loop of switch on and off.

My set was getting worse from once every 30 min to every minute, and it was not a soft turn off, but the audio was violently loud.

I have this happen several times over the years since 2012, and had banned at the modem from connecting to Samsung TV Software update. I had to factory reset the modem from another issue, but unfortunately an update slipped past me and onto the TV.

Nothing ever gets better from their updates, but causes trouble every time with simple things like HDMI no longer working.

What you need to enter into your modem 's 'blocked sites' as www.samsungotn.net

Then it cannot update the software, but the apps on the Smart Hub will update.

Some apps crash on update and cause similar issues, and if you have no internet connection, they will not cause so much a problem.

I have been having the same problem, I tried the above solution with memory card but wasn't able to get that to work, upon more research I found a post that said to remove the back cover, and unplug and replug the circuit boards, and anything that has a plug, and blow the dust out of the connections. Very easy as the post said, nothing that can really go wrong, the tV was useless. Low and behold, upon re installing the back and plugging in the set, for the first time in a month the set is working. Low tech, solution even I could do. Sorry for the neighborhood fix-it guy, he would have charged me 50 bucks just to diagnose it and Whatever part he thought I needed. I love the internet. Thanks to those that forged the road before us.

The problem is not in the Wi-Fi module, Just in power consumption. In my opinion you can freely put Wi-Fi back in, remove the cord between mainboard and power supply board, turn it around, then plug again. You will see that one vein will be a little bit darker in plug. That because Samsung picks too thin to deliver so much energy to mainboard.

Hi All,

Even I had this problem, My TV was getting repeatedly getting turned off and on. I went through many blogs and forums, but couldnt get any satisfying answers.

I thought lets do something on my own, I removed the back panel of the TV cleared some dust and then unplugged and replugged all the cables inside the TV, Fortunately it resolved my issue and now the TV is running awesome like never before.

The only clicking (on/off) reason is not enough energy on mainboard. Most often it is enough to reverse the cable between the board and the power supply, sometimes it needs to be replaced. It is rare to replace the power supply board.

All tips to turn off WIFI, BLUETOOTH, ANYNET + etc. works if, after disconnecting a particular circuit, there is enough current to handle the rest. The problem hides in the cord - it is poorly designed. New, original cable costs 30 €. It may be exchanged even by a child.

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

Same issue of turning off and on randomly. 5 year old Samsung 46" smart TV was not connecting wirelessly. I hooked up via ethernet cable, no updates needed. At this point, I assumed it was the wireless LAN that was corrupt after some reading and the fact it would dump out of the wireless setup menu when I tried to connect. I unplugged the wireless LAN, both back panels had to come off. It was tucked up under the outside plastic back panel on bottom left side looking at back . One screw and unplug, simple clip to unplug. Essentially made it a dumb TV. I use wireless Roku box (prefer that over 2011 smart hub) to make it smart again. So far so good.

This is a VERY common concern in late model large flat screen televisions. The mounting screws on the main board become loose over time due to vibrations from the speakers as well as lower torque values during the assembly process. The easiest way to diagnose if this is your condition is to increase the volume while the TV stays on for more than a few seconds. If by simply raising the volume the TV turns off (and may start cycling on/off) you probably nailed it. Power down, allow several minutes for the capacitors to discharge then remove the back cover, remove each circuit board one at a time. Using a small wire brush or sandpaper, clean the areas that the board makes contact with the frame, where the screws thread in. Install the circuit board a d tighten the screws firmly BY HAND. Repeat throughout and watch your annoying issue become a thing of the past.

If the TV has been connected to the internet then disconnect the LAN cable and disable wireless LAN and do a factory reset details of how to do this should be in the handbook that came with the TV Set and that should solve the problem, if not then you will have to remove the back panel and disconnect the connecting lead that connects to the surround near the bottom left and replace the back panel, don’t worry you can still control the TV via the remote control, the reason that this happens is that you get a build up of grease and dirt on the contact area of the TV controls on the bottom right of the set.

This issue has been bothering me for few years, now it can be easily fixed. Manty thanks rd013 and Stephen Stragnell for your great contributions to the community.

As rd013 pointed out, the problem was related to the firmware upgrade and wifi password loss.

I followed the instructions from Stephen: remove the back cover, and unplug and replug the circuit boards, and anything that has a plug, and blow the dust out of the connections. The firmware went back to its original version after those steps and the tv could stay on. I then turned off the auto upgrade and blocked www.samsungotn.net from the router.
