Opti drive from 15" MBP fit in a 17" MBP, same year/model

Will the optical drive from a 15" macbook pro (a1226) be compatible with a 17" macbook pro (a1229)?

Both are mid 2007 macbook pro 2.4ghz core 2 duo 'santa rosa' models. I'm hoping with maybe different mounting brackets, clips etc. I can swap the opti drive from the 15" into the 17" with minimal fuss.
