No Power, #1 LED Stays lit, #'s 2&3 LED's flash

I have an Intel iMac 20", Model A1224, 1gb RAM, that one day just stopped turning on. I opened it up and checked the diagnostic LED's on the board. #1 stays lit. #2 and #3 blink on and off. #4 doesn't light up at all.

When I press the power button on the back of the black, plastic case, the internal fans will attempt to spin, but will not spin. (They rotate *maybe* one (1) degree out of the 360 degrees they would spin.) I can hear a high-pitched sound--kinda like a whirring sound--coming from the power supply when this occurs.

I have attempted to reset the SMC with, seemingly, no effect.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I have the same exact issue. Replaced the power supply and 2&3 are still flashing. Did you find out the problem?

The blinking indicates a RAM problem. First reseat the RAM. If that fails try one stick at a time in each of the slots.

Seems that the power supply has gone. #1 LED indicates trickle power, it's always on when the computer is plugged in and supplies 5V to the logic board. Whe #2 and#3 are blinking it means that CPU and GPU can't be initialized. Usually a (don't know the english term for it, i try ;-)) power store diode is gone on the power supply. You can check it but be careful. Leave the machine unplugged for at least 24H cause the capacitors can store a lot of voltage.

Good luck.

Installed a new Power Supply. #2 and #3 LED's are still blinking. Any other thoughts? Thanks.
