Trackpad won't work if inside the aluminium case

So a few days ago a little bit of water spilled on the trackpad i wiped it and then the problems began. Only the upper half of the trackpad would work and it would spin the mouse around on the whole screen and click stuff without me doing anything.

So I decided to dismantle the whole thing and buy a new trackpad. The new one has not arrived yet but the problem I have is that the trackpad works pervectly fine if it is not in the aluminium case and is just connected to the Logicboard. But as soon as I assemble all the parts again and boot up the mac the same thing starts happening again. Any advice?

Maybe there is some liquid stuck inside the trackpad assembly and it makes some kind of shorts when applied pressure on it?

Just my 2 cents ;)
