My Lenovo tablet battery lasts for hours at most, even when the tablet is in standby mode. Is there something I could do to make the battery last longer?

Unfortunately, this device does not seem to have the best battery consumption rate as some other devices. The idle consumption rate for this tablet is 1.9 watts, which is a relatively high rate when compared to similar devices.
