davidpeltier, Oral B sonic starts and charges but won't shut off, the off button may have slipped out of position inside the housing of the brush or the contacts may need cleaned. Mine show thesma ebehaviour now. I took it apart ( search for batteryreplacement to find the procedure) and noticed a lot of corrosion inside. Probably the little on-off switch is corroed too. It is a switch on the smd circuit board. I will use a solder iron to take off and check if i can clean it or find a replacement switch.

Same problem here my toothbrush is a 4736. I opened it up and coated the switch with deoxit d100l which I actually use very succesfully on my car, guitar amp .... I also swiped some on the circuit board and connector wires. Let it it sit for a few hours. Pressed the button about 9 times while it was on and it started working properly.
