If your ZTE ZMax camera isn't working and you're seeing 'Unable to connect to camera' or 'Camera has been disabled because of security policies,' try the following steps:
Restart the Phone: A simple reboot can resolve many camera issues.
Remove and Reinsert the SIM Card: Power off the phone, remove the SIM card, wait a few seconds, reinsert it, and power the phone back on.
Check for Software Updates: Ensure your phone's software is up to date, as updates can fix bugs affecting the camera.
Reset Camera App Settings: Go to Settings > Apps > Camera > Storage and tap 'Clear Data' to reset the app.
Factory Reset: If the above steps don't work, consider performing a factory reset. Remember to back up your data before proceeding.

It does work, but u don't necessarily need to wipe data/factory reset as u risk the possibility of losing any data not saved onto your sd card. Simply select reboot system. Your phone will restart on it's own and your camera should be working again.
