Why does my iPad randomly get brighter?

My iPad 2 EMC2560 has lost much of it's brightness. It will randomly get bright (brightness level it should be), but it never lasts very long and I can make no connection between the events that lead to said brightness.? Any help/ advice appreciated.

Have you ever taken your iPad apart? If so, it may be a backlight issue with the LCD, in which case you need a new one.

It also might be a setting, on Apple devices you can make the iPad set the brightness automatically- make sure that's turned off.

Is your iPad in a case?, the case could be blocking the backlight sensor ( just above front camera) causing your iPad to think it is dark and should lower the backlight. Try remov Not the case of turning off auto brightness as You Just suggested
