I want to use my multimeter to test a battery. The banana plugs are attached and cords are attached to the device, but the screen is not reading anything. My device is turned on and seems to be functioning otherwise.

I'm all for fixing stuff and keeping it working, but Harbor Freight literally gives these meters away. They're not worth fixing. i have a stack of spare ones still in the package waiting to be used.
