Nintendo Wii U Gamepad and console Sync buttons aren't working?

The Wii U console powers on and plays discs with no problems. The gamepad however, needs repairs. The gamepad's power and sync buttons do not work. I can get the gamepad to turn on by pressing the TV button twice but I can't get any further than that without syncing. I'm unable to use the gamepad any further due to this issue. So what do I do?
