Verizon 5C Works But No Sound Or Mic On Calls

I have an iPhone 5C that I replaced the screen on myself. Everything works great on the phone. Wifi works, proximity sensor, microphone, speakerphone, and earpiece speaker works. I tested them with the voice memo app and it all works great. No fuzzy sound, no issues there. Siri works and recognizes commands just fine. As far as I can tell, there's no issues.

Until, I activated it on Verizon, and when I make calls, no one can hear me, and I cannot hear them, nor can I hear the ringing or anything. It's not fuzzy or scratchy, just no sound. Even on speakerphone.

I had cut my sim card to fit into the iphone 5C so I thought maybe I messed up the sim card. Went to Verizon and got it replaced and still had no effect.

Everything else worked on the phone. Internet connectivity worked, texting worked, no issues with anything else.

What could be wrong?

It has 3 mic's. The main at bottom, one next to earspeaker for siri and other apps. and the one on the back next to the camera for filming. some even work together to improve calls but i think your problem is not the mic's. maybe your phone thinks it's in a docking station or maybe even thinks there are headphones plugged in. did you try those?

because there is little chance for you to damadge the dock connector while doing a screen repair, maybe you knocked some small components of the logicboard near the touch and lcd connectors.

check with microscope, and keep us posted

Thanks for your help. I think it's dead unfortunately. Need to find one for a good price asap though. Thanks again.

Did you take battery out before changing screen?

I have the exact same problem with a iphone 5S. Everything works but I have no sound during a call nor can the other person hear me. Voice memo, earspeaker, main speaker and siri all seem to work just fine. I did replace the power flex cable so, I had it all apart. I don't see any damage to the components on the logic board either. Any suggestions?

This a hardware problem, you must open the back shield on the motherboard and heat up with a hot air gun the 2 shiny silver ICs (Sound ICs) Probably you will fix it and the sound come back.

Good luck
