Huge battery drains and always warm

Hello my iphone was working great when all of a sudden I find it dead overnight. After charging it back I noticed it gets very hot and drains the battery like crazy. I have done everything I could find as tips on the net. Reset, hard reset, restore , delete iCloud, add new iCloud, changed frame, battery, checked CPU usage with system monitor... Everything is ok. It's very frustrating now I fully charged it and went to 37% in 1 hour !! I am out of ideeas even in airplane mode it discharges itself all the same

If you can, remove the EMI shields before soaking in alcohol. Then once it is submerged, clean it gently with a toothbrush or something similar. If that doesn't work, I have seen lately that a bad U2 chip can cause this problem. It is difficult to find someone capable of that repair, however.

Yeah I'm no expert, but from what I've researched lately, that sounds very much like a U2 issue. I am pretty sure Cyberdoc LLC can replace that for you but they are sometimes difficult to get a hold of. If you can, I would say give them a try.

I actually know another business in Colorado that specializes in BGA rework. They only advertise laptop/PC repair, but I spoke with one over the phone today and they said that if you want a SPECIFIC IC replaced, then they can do it. Try giving them a call:

Sound like you have tried a lot of stuff. I know you have an iphone 5 though you might still have the same issue. iPhone 4S (and older) with a dirty/defect docking connector showed just these symptoms. You should check your lightning connector. Start by cleaning it prperly. If that does not help, try to replace it.

I have changed the entire internal assembly... Baught an icloud locked iphone 5 and swapped the motherboard

So basicly everithing is new accept the motherboard. Should i soak my motherboard in alcohol to clean it ? Is it safe ? There was never any water damage to my phone to lead to this but im running out of ideeas and patience with this phone

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

yeah you could try that mate, but everything is point towards a motherboard problem, hopefully if you soak it in alcohol it should fix it

crwdns2934285:0crwdne2934285:0

It's clearly a U2 chip issue because I've charged my phone with a new cable not original how can I get it changed I have a replacement board.

Also what I can see in the symptoms leading me to believe it's the chip other than just charging it with the bad cable is that sometimes when I reset or restore the phone it does not start by itself ... I need to power it on manually also the phone refused to charge when the battery was flat once and only I've got it up again with a charged battery replacement

Some of the 5s are eligible for the battery replacement program . As per website "Apple has determined that a small percentage of iPhone 5 users may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently " they were sold between September 2012 and January 2013 and fall between limited serial number range. Google iPhone 5 battery replacement program. All you do is enter serial number in. I did and went to Apple Store and they replaced my battery. Good luck!!!!
