laptop fell on the floor, still working but screen not powering

my laptop fell like half a meter to the floor and the screen immediately went dark. I could play music by pressing the "play" button and could start and restart by pressing the power button. however i tried all i can but the screen is still not powering. someone said it might be the flex/vga that got disconnected. I dont have any material to open and I dont have much experience on opening laptops, and this is MBA, please help. thanks

Hook it up to an external monitor to try to isolate the problem. Please give us the last three figures of your serial number located on the back in fine print so we know which MBA you have.
