What's this small bullet-shaped metal object that fell out of my iMac?

A solid small (quarter inch) metal object fell out of my iMac as I was re-assembling it (it fell out at the last step, as I was re-attaching the glass panel).

That is a pin which attaches to the inside metal frame of the glass display. They do break off. As long as the glass is replaced carefully you can lose a few with no problems as the magnets do a very good job. Not to worry, just use less force when removing the glass.
