Cpu fan and optical drive fav spinning at full speed.

Well good news I have one of my macs up and running with the new ssd drive in it. It took a new graphics card, and new backlight card, and I had to switch out the motherboard, butt it think the original board was fine. My temp cables set up. I used a lcd temp sensor wire and taped it on my ssd drive. On start up. My system is using mavericks and starts up normally but the CPU and optical drive fans are very noisy from the get go. I checked my speeds and temp and all seam way low enough. Funny thing is it says my cpu fan is 0 rmp and I know it is not it is the one making the. Most noise. I know I can enter a command in the terminal to reset these fans to a lower rpm, butt I want a more permanent fix. Can some one help?

Is it always that your mac boots up with loud fan noise? Or it happens randomly?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Hey it is always loud as soon as I turn it in till about a minute after it goes to sleep. I have installed smc it says my cpu is at 0 rpm. I am sertain it is at full speed.

Also about the shorting the hdd temp sensor. I have read some posts that say to do that and some that say you don't kneed to.

In any case would not having a hdd sensor cable cause the optical drive and cpu fan to spin at full speed?

Also my mac doesn't feel warm at all actually kind of cool and my temps say they are all under 50 deg c

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

At first start up smc says odd 1000 rpm, hdd 2502 rpm, and cpu 0 rpm. Hdd temp is 22 deg c, odd temp is 22 deg c, and cpu is at 22 deg c.

I don't have the sensor cable I have a ssd drive, I tried to use another optical drive sensor cable, butt that didn't work eather.

If you used the optional SATA port sensor connection on the logic bd you'll need to short out the unused HD sensor connection if you are not using the HD SATA connector set.

Sorry thats for the newer model. No this one

Not sure what is the optional sata port sensor connector?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Did you add or replace your HD? If you added it then the optical drives temp sensor needs to be wired up. If you replaced your current HD then the sensor that was on your HD needs to be wired up. Do you have the sensors? Or did you loose them?

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

Comment is above.

crwdns2934271:0crwdnd2934271:0crwdne2934271:0

I guess I wasn't clear: When you put in the SSD did you add it to your system (2nd storage device replacing your optical drive) or did you replace the HD for the SSD. Depending on what you did will tell us which way you need to go here.

Ok thanks. What I did was I bought this through eBay with no hdd so i am using the ssd to replace the original hdd. I never received the original hdd just the imac with an empty slot where the hdd used to be. I bought the ssd drive and a hdd install bracket. I also had an extra optical drive so I used the temp sensor on that because I read somewhere that that would work. It didn't !
