Why does my replacement wifi chip not work?

Hi, tried changing the wifi chip but the wifi is still greyed out.

Is this likely to be related to the two small SMD 10K resistors on the right hand side of the chip which are missing? According to the schematic they have to do with the control lines for I2C

Where did you buy it from? If you bought a cheap one it may be faulty.

This is true

the cheaper you buy it from the more faulty it gets. I had to pay 20GBP and its still not working.

You are right, without these resistors the chip will never work.
