Replace volume buttons or headphone jack & volume control cables?

My up volume button no longer depresses. It does work if I press firmly at a certain angle. When working normally, is the clicking, felt and heard, from the button or from the cable? I am guessing it is the button that broke since contact can be made if really trying, but wanted to make sure.

Thanks!!!

Its not the metal button problem.

Problem is on the cable. There is a small black plastic dot on the yellow cap of connector. Its broken.

You can replace the whole cable. Or very small square piece of paper can be glued on top of yellow cap (center of circle).

Good luck ...

Thank you for the advice and ideas. I will check inside and look for the dot and shin to see.

Thank you again.
