Updated version of the original iPad 2, released in March of 2012 with a smaller die processor and updated internal construction. Repair will require the use of heat and careful prying.

Replaced LCD, only get a backlight?

Hi,

My Ipad 2 2012 got pretty smashed up, i dismantled and the parts i needed were digitiser, lcd screen, power flex ribbon and headphone jack ribbon (runs from power flex and goes into logic board)

I have put it together and tested it and with the ipad plugged in i can see the backlight, i can also see it working when i try sticking it in dfu mode and recovery mode.

restores will not work as i keep getting errors (21,3194,3004) but it is being recognised by itunes.

does this sound like a hardware issue or software issue?

thanks :)

Sounds like both, the backlight issue could be the result of not turning off the iPad before disconnecting the digitizer and LCD. That's called perm dim. It requires changing a chip and coil and intricate solder work. Did you try a hard reset? Holding down the menu and power button at the same time?
