Part left over after reassembly to replace speaker

I replaced the speaker without removing the battery.

I have a little black bracket with a gold finger left over after I reassembled. It has what looks to be a screw hole in it. I took everything apart again and looked carefully at all your pictures but can't tell where it goes.

See picture, it's the little backer shown next to the speaker assembly.

Hi.

Can't see any picture...?

But is it this one?

Block Image

If it is: It's the small black ground clip on the upper screw of the battery connector.

The picture show you where to put it :)

You can see it on step 5 in the "iPhone 4S Speaker Enclosure Replacement"-guide

Great but with all due respect what the HECK is it used for? what is it's function? Is it really necessary cause I removed it and I have no issues.......
