Is it possible to make the old iPad lighter?

When I bought my iPad retina, I felt it was too heavy. I knew they would """invent""" a lighter iPad. I won't buy the iPad Air. Is there a way to change components ?

Well... anything is technically possible, but oftentimes economically infeasible. In other words, you're better off buying an iPad Air and selling your old iPad than trying to "lighten" the old one. It'll be less time, money, and frustration by a large margin — and someone will put the old one to good use!

Not to mention Apple doesn't support the original iPads. Even the iPad 2 cannot upgrade past iOS 9.
