Which Screws go where?

I have replaced my screen on my iphone 4s and all the screws are muddled up. I have looked online to see if there were any VISUAL diagrams and video but there are none. Different shapes and sizes makes it difficult to understand which screw goes where.

Please help im going insane without my phone.

You should always mark were your screws come from, you can print out free screw maps from Google, I use an old pill minder am/pm.

Most of the screws have a certain spot on the motherboard, don't put them in the wrong place! Here is the link your looking for

This guy has a Youtube videos and store that can help too.

A micrometer will make it easy, but you can line them up by size and eliminate from there.

Good Luck

Update (02/17/2019)

Hi, Since it has been six years since my original post.. I saw some people upset about the links, I took a look and yep, them links is down…

IFIXIT has a great set of tutorials for all iPhones.. Probably all phones! Blue link at the bottom.

I looked for vibration cable replacement from the list and it gave me all the screw sizes for the phone.

Sorry, but THIS LINK DOESN'T WORK, so don't waste your time trying to go there.

I think everyone knows that they need to put the screws on a screw map so they know where they came out of....but sometimes, OTHER people have disassembled the phone, or something has happened to mix the screws up (ie. my cat jumped onto the screw map, which was not magnetic....lesson learned!)

This problem with 'which screws go where' could be SO easily fixed...pleasssse ifixit, colour-code the screws with corresponding colour-coded holes on the magnetic iscrew holders. It would make life so much easier. I have a digital vernier caliper and I STILL can't determine the minute differences between the screw measurements, so I think it is virtually impossible if you don't have a digital caliper.

P.S. I used the picture above to try and find the correct screw for each hole and my measurements didn't jive with those measurements at all, so I would be wary of using that as a guide. The ifixit video for replacing the display gives you the screw sizes as you go through the tear down, but again, if you are starting from scratch with a new set of screws, you STILL HAVE TO MEASURE THEM- and THAT is the problem. (Colour-code, colour-code, colour-code.....)

...And the replacement screws aren't sorted according to size, and the only 'sorting' is pictures on the iscrew holder of three 'types' of screws (frontal, lateral, and LCD/touch). This is of little use to me, as the screws are all different sizes and I am concerned about putting the wrong one in the wrong place and wrecking the phone.
