Should I replace my iPod's battery, or should I send it in?

I'm not sure if I should replace the iPod's battery?

Is it easy to do, I heard that people have broken theirs by trying to do it themselves.

I have never soldered anything together or apart before, I watched ways to replace your battery. They seem pretty difficult to me.

What to do guys think I should do to replace my iPod's battery?

goidiot, if you have never done it before, it is pretty difficult. Nobody knows your abilities better than you do. Check this guide and read all the captions and comments, then base your decision on that. It will require soldering etc, so if unsure, safest bet would be to have somebody else do it for you. Hope this helps, good luck.

Hey mate,

Before you replace your battery, give your iPod a full restore and set it up as new, then use it for a day. You will probably find that it behaves the way that you would like it - usually it's software which kills the battery and not the actual battery itself. If it is still not appreciably better after a full restore, then you should consult a battery change and judge your skills and consider whether it's better to send it in or to do it yourself.

Cheers.
