MacBook 1,1 won't wake up when Lid is opened

today i changed the complete lid from a MacBook and now the MacBook won't wake up when the lid is opened - sleeping is no problem - the book falls asleep as soon as the lid is around 1" away from the battery connector/sleep switch - wut when i open it - nothing, i hav to press a button and then it comes back to life.

i used a magnet to test the switch - works without a problem - but the "point" is a little bit off - when i use the point where the magnet is in the lid - it only wakes up with a stronger magnet.

my ptoblem with that is only one thing - the both points are non changeable - can the magnet in the lid be "to weak"

Yes magnets can become weaker. My first question is the alignment of the new lid correct? If so and there is room for the stronger magnet without causing other problems I would consider using the stronger magnet, but I would try to obtain another correct magnet first. Ralph

The lid is in the right position

i have a few MacBooks, but no spare magnets - so i think i should try a tiny neodymium magnet to support the original one.

those small magnets would fit near the wifi antenna (and that way i won't have to disassemble everything)
