My right iPod touch earphone is doesn't work!

Recently I used my iPod Touch with my friends speaker.

Not as usual, my iPod Touch little experienced some disruption in producing his voice, a voice screeched, and my iPod Touch suddenly hangs.

After I got home, I try to listen to music using my earphones. and I was shocked because the right earphone made no sound at all, I was wondering could this problem from my earphones that have been long time since I used, I ended up using my stereo speakers I used to wear.

I try to play a stereo knob settings, to the sound of the speakers from the left was normal with no problems, and when I set it to listen to voices from the right speaker, did not hear a sound there.

it was clear that the problem comes from my iPod Touch

So..Is there someone here who can help solve my problem?

Best Regard

Jagger

Have you tried different headphones with the unit?

There might be dirt in the headphone jack causing a weak connection. You might try a tightly twisted Q-tip to twist in the jack holding it upside down for any dirt to come out. You can also apply a little tiny bit of high grade isotropic alcohol (70%+) to the Q-tip and rub it in the port a little bit to loosen up stubborn dirt, but let it dry for 30 mins before trying it out again to be safe.

Finally..I've been waiting for long time for the answer. You saved me Man!! I try to clean the Jack just like you said, but it don't change anything. The sound's still have the same problem.

I thinking about maybe my iPod touch should go to the "hospital" lol. But it's really hard in here to find apple expert who can solve problem like this.

I really appriciate your answer Man!

Big thanks!

I Got the same problem. but what its with me left headphone *sigh*

what i do (and yes i know this sounds crazy) is that i plug in my headphones, put on a song. only the right one works so i Knock the screen. Yes ROFL you heard me :L

i`ve deducted that my iPod touch has some problem internally, but when i knock it with my finger (not tap, knock) not with my knuckles, but that Joint on your finger above your knuckles :L

it sounds crazy, but it works for me :L it stopps working. so i knock the screen with one finger and if it dosent come back on. i knock it again at a diffrent spot, and again at a diffrent spot harder and harder till the left one works again it stays good like both headphones work untill i put it down. or untill somthing else slightly tapps it, quiet annoying. i just gennttllyyy put it down. and yeah its all good

dw, the screen wont crack or break becouse it is made of a special tamperd glass, thats why it dosent scratch as easy as a phone or somthing :)

stab it with a knife and i bet the knife will break :L

ok ok ok im going of topic (:

but yeah. its crazy, but hey, its worth a shot :)

and it works for me :L

i need to go and take it to a repair shop soon but i dont know anyone who fix`s iPod Touches and my warrenty is over :(

This has happened to me too with the left earphone. I have found out that the main reason why it doesnt work for me is that i have wrapped my headphones around my ipod too many times and now for the jack to work i either need to push the earphone jack straight in or push the earphone jack down.

why don't you try adding a piece of aluminum foil to the end of the headphone jack, since maybe the headphone jack has bad contact with one of the headphones aluminum can help that problem.
