Turn 17 "screen into external monitor?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

My computer died a horrific death (cider was involved), and I've salvaged the hard drive, and the other removable stuff, but what I really want to do is pull the screen out and turn it into a VGA or DVI external monitor. It could then be a very low power, small footprint wall-mountable device.

Any ideas as to how to build a VGA or DVI adaptor for it?

This is NOT a software question. It's a hardware/wiring question.
