Yeah, this is super annoying—I had the same issue on my 2017 MacBook Pro. Turns out it’s that huge trackpad… my palm kept grazing it while typing and the cursor would jump around or randomly highlight stuff. I ended up using an external mouse and checked the settings to ignore the built-in trackpad when one’s connected. Not a perfect fix, but it really helped.
