Looking at the [link|https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/3874/38742795M.pdf|user manual] the laser lens may be easily accessible, so you may be able to ''gently'' clean the laser lens using a Q-tip lightly moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol 99%+ (available from electronic parts stores), just in case it is a dirty lens that is preventing the disc from being read.
