If you have a DMM (digital multimeter) here's the ifixit [guide|104208] guide that may help to find out what the problem is.
I think that even if you find the problem and it is a faulty part that needs replacing, (besides a faulty power cord), locating the correct replacement part won't be easy as searching online for parts for the model doesn't show any results at all. Given the price of the kettle this is no doubt because it is built to a price and the manufacturer doesn't supply any replacement parts or backup service beyond the standard new kettle warranty replacement period.
