While you may get some generic answers by just telling us you're working on a lawn mower, chances are you'll get a much more specific answer if we know the manufacturer and model number of your particular lawn mower. I suggest editing your post to add that information to get some better responses.

As an example, if I knew the model number I wouldn't have to ask if this is a gas or electric mower. Assuming it's gas, have you removed the air filter and cleaned it or at least tried to run it without? Does it have a fresh tank of gas? Have you checked anything in the carburetor, such as the needle valve or float bowl?

What have you done to try and troubleshoot the problem so far?
