My experience with the F78 fault might be totally coincidental. We had been experiencing the fault quite regularly. At some point, we switched the detergent to Cascade Platinum pods and the fault went away. Things worked great for months. We then were going to have a water softener installed in a week or so. I worried that I might need to use less detergent once we were on soft water. I had also run out of the Cascade platinum pods about the same time, and switched to a Cascade gel detergent so I could control the quantity. The problem started up immediately, and happens every time we run a load. I haven't tried to switch back to the previous pods to see if things change. Anyway, my braindead observation is that in our case, the fault has something to do with the detergent we use.
