Am I correct in assuming you've verified your remote is working, leaving the TV itself as the source of the problem?
-Turn on your phone's camera and point the remote at it. Press any button on the remote and you should see a violet light in the camera (it's not visible to the naked eye). A flashing light says the remote is working; if you don't see a light then chances are the problem is with the remote, not the TV - even if you've put new batteries in it.
