@mordecai117 as you increase the backlight the frequency of the coil whine changes due to the demands on the coil. It's still there you just can't hear it as well :-)

This could be a design issue since your laptop is not that old to have a worn coil already. You could of course replace the coil and see if that fixes it or you could apply some noise dampening material. I use a lot of hot glue for those issue whereas colleagues of mine use Silicon sealant :-)
