Leave the charger connected when using the laptop and create a [link|https://www.windowscentral.com/generate-battery-report-windows-10|battery report] to check the condition of the battery.
When you have the report, compare the ''Design Capacity'' value versus the ''Full Charge Capacity'' value as shown in the report. For a good battery they should be close in value. You can work out the condition as a percentage by using the formula ''Full Charge Capacity value x 100 ÷ Design capacity value.'' If it is <35% replace it.
The cmos error is due to the fact that the RTC (Real Time Clock aka cmos) power supply, is provided by the main battery and if it is too low a value, then corruption to the BIOS can occur.
