How to fix blank screen and unresponsive to touch?

My screen has gone completely black and is unresponsive to any touch, yet still rings when someone is calling. Just can't answer obviously. Will the whole screen need replacing or maybe just sensors or connecting wires? Fairly new to this so don't know all technical terms.
