Was the lightbulb the original that came with the refrigerator or one that has replaced the original.
If it was a replacement is the correct wattage lightbulb being used?

Perhaps check if there's visible door switch in the door jamb of the refrigerator i.e. door operates switch. If there is then with the refrigerator door open check if when you manually operate the door switch that the light turns off, just in case the light is on all the time when it shouldn't be.
