Power button won't click

At some point my power button stopped "clicking." I have to press it really hard for it to work at all.

I've dropped this thing several times, so that may be involved, but I can't find anything that seems bent.

I've [guide|22172|torn it down to the power button] and removed and cleaned it; there's nothing wrong with the button itself. Could it be the [product|IF327-006|Audio Control and Power Button Cable]?
