Hello William, I don't know exactly what is going wrong but here are some things to try.

-Powering on and off your DVD player, turning on and off your power bar for the rest of your AV setup.

-Check if you put it in the right orientation. Try putting it in the other way.

-Try cleaning your disk.

-Try with a different disk.

-If those don't work you could try taking it apart to clean things like the lens that reads the disk. ***Just*** ***be very careful.*** Damaging this ***will brick*** your player.

-Contact technical support. Sometimes they offer free repairs if there was a manufacturing error which they got sued for...
