So recently the motor locked up on my maytag mav8557aww. I ordered a new motor, and replaced it. .(Old motor was locked, would not spin by hand, even with belt off.) [br]
[br]
Now with the new motor, it will only buzz when I try and put it on spin. This model washer doesn't have a start capacitor either. [br]
[br]
I checked continuity through the lid switch, and I am getting proper continuity on both circuits. [br]
[br]
I also checked continuity and ohms for the wiring harness. I am getting continuity for every wire, but the orange wire (for the speed circuit) is .4 ohms, while the rest are 0.0 ohms. Considering replacing this orange wire. [br]
[br]
Only thing else I could see that it could be at fault is the timer. Any idea how to test this timer/multifunction switch without just firing the parts cannon at it again?[br]
[br]
To be clear, the motor will not spin, even with the belt off. So it couldn't be related to the water pump, or transmission/stator.
