I finally managed to disassemble most of the fryer unfortunately it wasn't the mains fuse or the thermal fuse and seeing all the electronics inside I decided to give up. However, just in case anyone else comes up with a problem on this fryer, I thought I'd post a few pictures on how I did it. It may save someone some time and aggravation.

Top view.

The display panel is first to be removed. This view gives an idea of the clips underneath.

The display comes off with the display board attached.

There are four screw attaching the board to the display. These need separation so the the board can fit through the silver surround.

This is showing the clips under the silver surround. It is a pain in the whatsit to take off. I only broke one of the clips.

Having removed the surround I need to remove the board. Just two cables.

With the board removed the eight screws can be removed. Note the position of the screws as there are four small and four bigger.

This is where I got to and had to stop as my troubleshooting experience with electronics is lacking.

From what I had read about air fryers, the usual problem is the drawer switch and this is where I started. This is the bottom view of the fryer and that sole screw is the first thing that has to be removed. I don't know if somebody else had attempted to unscrew it or whether the manufacturer purposely uses a screw for which there is no tool. With great pain I managed it.

Another six screws to remove.

Once this is removed, there is access to the drawer swtch

Good luck.
